
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Manager – Partnerships and Outreach to join our team. This position will work directly with the Assistant Program Director at Development Alternatives to strategically anchor and develop the organization’s work on Sustainable Habitats towards mainstreaming resource efficiency and circular economy principles across sectors, and urban project development in policy as well as praxis, with the broad objective of generating responses towards building ecological resilience and improving the living conditions of local communities.
Your primary responsibility would be to support the Planning and Policy Domain in the programmatic development and project activities on sustainable habitats. You would work in a highly interdisciplinary team in a very dynamic environment. You would be encouraged to look at possible synergies across systems, sectors, and scales to design and implement cross-cutting projects. You would be expected to further our ambitious efforts to advance the organization’s agenda by disseminating our work and message to a wide variety of stakeholders nationwide, including researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and institutions of higher education.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management: Build and manage partnerships with national and international stakeholders from the government, multilateral, private sector, academia, CSOs, etc., to contribute towards the team’s programmatic objectives and targets.
Draft MoUs, and letters of intent, to facilitate partnerships and coordinate for successful signing of agreements with various stakeholders.
Interface with clients to manage project activities and periodic reporting and strengthen organizational relationships.
Liaising, networking, and building relationships with partners and clients to foster collaboration and support for key thematic areas to create opportunities for positioning & visibility.
Fundraising and Business Development: Develop and implement strategic plans for fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial objectives.
Identify opportunities, write proposals with the team, and supervise and coordinate operations to raise funds for programmatic growth as per strategic priorities.
Knowledge Management and Outreach: Lead the curation and execution of knowledge events such as stakeholder consultations, workshops, and outreach events, including planning, implementation, coordination, and documentation and communication.
Create pertinent communication materials and knowledge products to effectively convey project objectives and outcomes to relevant target groups, including government, industry, academia, and civil society.
Coordinate and provide editorial support for social media posts, newsletters, website updating, communications material, and outreach strategy.
Requirements
5 - 7 Years Experience required
Experience working in climate-resilient urban development, planning, and governance, sustainable built environment.
Experience in working with various stakeholders including state departments, ministries, multilateral organizations, and CSOs would be preferable.
Experience in partnership building and network servicing, fundraising, knowledge management and communications.
In-depth understanding of concepts of circular economy, urban climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable urban development, waste management, and state of the art knowledge of upcoming technologies and innovations.
Knowledge of current policy and market landscape around sustainable urban development and stakeholders and networks engaged in the same.
Excellent writing and communication skills for technical and non-technical reports, presentations, briefs, and proposals.
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online tools for collaborative working.
Willingness to travel for field work (travel may include smaller towns, villages, and remote locations for community interactions).
